Me at Aiming Low: I’ve Got Sunshine On A Cloudy Day

rainbow toe socks plus cherry-scented nail polish!

Read my latest piece at Aiming Low — "I've Got Sunshine On A Cloudy Day":

I Hate February, And March Can Pretty Much Suck It, Too

I feel like I have all kinds of things to say, but every time I start writing, it all boils down to this:

I HATE FEBRUARY, AND MARCH CAN PRETTY MUCH SUCK IT, TOO.

It's -29°F with the wind chill, and emotionally I'm having none of it, but that's just foot-stompy childishness, because I must have it, because there it is being all frigid out there, and I can't exactly zap it up to above zero for my walk to work, can I?

So, yeah, I'm just going to hang around and complain about the weather today, although I do feel compelled to search out at least one good thing about it, so here it is:

socks!

Socks!

They are warm and fuzzy and were made for me with love by my mother-in-law, which means that at least my feet can feel ducky while the rest of me plots out how best to conserve my remaining psychological winter reserves by hiding under three layers of quilts with a bucket of Breyers twice-churned chocolate ice cream.

If you are one of the living-in-a-deepfreeze types, how are you muddling through today?
