The following photo is of an ancient notice to the tenants of the building in which I live. It looks like it has been there for at least fifty years.

Before 9 a.m. and after 11 p.m. television, radio, stereo phonograph, all musical instruments and social gatherings must be maintained at a quiet level so as not to disturb other tenants. Rowdiness, boisterous behaviour, unnecessary or uncommon noise or activity will not be permitted at any time.Now all I want to do is blast music from my stereo phonograph while boisterously bouncing my butt conga-line style up and down the halls and shouting the uncommon AWHOO-GA AWHOO-GA like an early 1900s car horn.
