Mary Josephine Ray and Daisey Bailey, two of the oldest people in the United States, died within hours of each other on Sunday, March 7th.
When I say that they were two of the oldest, I don't mean that they were centenarians. They were supercentenarians, a label that refers to the few individuals who manage to make it past the age of 110. Mary Josephine Ray and Daisey Bailey were both born in 1895 and were planning for their 115th birthdays.
