50x365 #366 (Because It Is A Leap Year): The Palinode

heading for horses

You are the place where I begin, where each journey pulls me out and back again in a circumnavigation of arcs defined by our continual point of return. You are the defining compass, the home I follow; you are my lodestone, my milestone, my signpost. You describe the measured distance.

I am a participant in x365 and Blog 365.

You are the queen of 50x365+1. They should be bound in a beautiful book, alongside some of your spectacular photographs. Would that be a fun project for you? Taking the evocative photo to suggest the subject of your eloquent words?

It didn't even matter to me what you wrote. That it was him was almost mathematically perfect.

If we could, I think we would all give you a standing ovation.

I second ErinH's idea, by the way.

as you approached the end of 365, I was certain the palinode would be #365, and when he wasn't, well, I was surprised. But here you surprise me again with a perfect twist on 365(6). :)

Awww...that's so darn sweet. Love it!

Dear Lord, woman. Once again, you have shown what an incredible writer you are. I'll miss this series, but I know you'll find something equally compelling.

We should all be so luck in finding our Palinode.

Your lodestone ... Ah!

I'm at a loss to describe the beauty and sharpness of your observations.

Monday, September 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJoy!

You are so sweet! That picture and your words got me teary-eyed.

Happy 365(6), and hoping for another year, maybe? Please?

That is really beautiful. I've loved these well-crafted, poignant snapshots so much. Little and large intersections, people who are windows and mirrors into this life of yours.

This has been a wonderful series of posts to follow. Congrats on making it all the way through!

comment #25: everybody took what I was going to say already.

Standing as I type this, in standing ovation style.

Sitting now, as that is a hard angle to type from. But I do it for you.

Bravo!

You saved the best for last I think. What wonderful words for your significant other. I'm striving for the same. Love your 365s and will miss the daily mystery and magic of it all. Best to you and the Palinode!

Congratulations on finishing x365! And with such a stellar entry.

I remember when I found your site and I thought your little narrative posts were awesome, in addition to the sense that they were generated by some kind of constraint that I couldn't detect blah blah blah.

So here's what I'm thinking. I'd like to come up with some kind of weekly piece of constraint based writing with you - we could post them on the weekend - like x52 or, you know, something more original. Maybe the palinode could do it too.

We could make a big fuss about it and make it seem all cool so that everyone else wants to do it.

Lemme know if you're down and we can brainstorm - if you are down, that is. ~BHJ
