We met at recess, two awkward kids looking for friendship. We decided to hang out at your house after school.

What do you like to play? I asked.

Barbies! You held up a doll.

What else?

Shopping. You?

I like to go on adventures.

I liked barbies and adventures :) My best friend Kate and I used to go out and harvest long grass for the dinosaurs that were going to time warp into her barn...
The horses sure liked all that grass...
I'm embarrassed to even share that story. We were 12.

my parents were too damn poor to buy me a Barbi and one friend even had one of those closet suitcases that was full of clothes.

My mom finally relented and bought me a SUZETTE doll. A Barbi ripoff and no one would let their barbies play with my Suzette. Damn kids.
