A man scaled his way to your second-floor apartment and raped you at knifepoint, but before he left, you used his knife against him to cut the skin on his arms to ribbons. I felt guilty feeling so proud of you, because I doubted it gave you much solace.

I remember reading that story in the paper and feeling so proud of her, too. But it also made me sad that she moved away because of it. It still doesn't change what happened.
