50x365 #292: Tanya

You are the first person I consciously thought of as ugly, and it filled me with guilt. I searched your features for some hidden beauty – your widely-spaced teeth, wiry hair, fat nose – and couldn’t’ find it. This bothers me still, as though you are the marker that reveals my flaw.

I don't like thinking badly of people based on random physical characteristics, but sometimes it's a visceral reaction. It's a guilty thing for me too. I want to think better of myself.
