50x365 #256: Wendy S.
Tuesday, June 3, 2008 You seemed like the quintessence of the stereotypical suburban girl: you were blonde, petite, smart, and took ballet classes. In late high school, you slit your wrists, and no one knew what to say about it. You had always been such a placid pool of perfection. Maybe that was it.
I am a participant in x365.

Dear Schmutzie, I usually love your people posts, but this one is just so sad. So sad. My class president in college shot herself to death, it was a huge shock, she always seemed happy and on top of things.
You're linked in my blog today!
I think these situations - the ones where the person seems really together in what might be considered a 'normal' way - to be the scariest kind. I mean, if they want to kill themselves, what business do I have being happy? It's always a surprise when someone tries to commit suicide, but when scary Goth kids did it, it always had the tinge of This is My Look about it.
PS. Thanks SO MUCH for the tip about Season 4 - you have no idea how annoying it's been to try to find all of Season 3. I found the first 3 episodes on one website, the next 2 somewhere else...BAH.
It just goes to show how much hides underneath the surface with people. It's a little scary how some of the people who seem like they have it the most together on the outside turn out to have the most darkness going on on the inside. It really isn't the black-wearing, over-pierced goth-emo kids as often as people tend to think.
