50x365 #174: Jim H.

I had a huge intellectual crush on you when you taught my university class, History Of The Americas. For the first time, I gave a damn about history, but that was due more to your dramatic stories about living in a South American jungle than your lectures on Jesuit influence.

I am a participant in x365.

Does the H stand for Handy?

Cuz I had a big ol' crush on my History of Latin America prof, & it wasn't just because of his intellect.

Wilma, it was definitely Jim Handy, a wonder of modern man.

I'll never forget the time I saw him roaming around in the wild, out of his natural habitat of the lecture hall. He was drinking a beer at Alexander's wearing tight jeans & a leather jacket, sitting with some hussy. Sigh.

I lucked into having him as my tutorial leader. We were so mature, the other girls & I, fighting over who got to sit beside him. He always brought us treats when he handed back our papers. He was very fond of red licorice. I was very fond of him.

Thanx for the trip down memory lane.

I had a tremendous crush on my history teacher in high school, and am convinced that that's the reason why I ended up being a history major in college. He was ridiculously older than me (like 50 years older), and my friends thought I was out of my mind for swooning over him. I think it was something about the AUTHORITY with which he spoke about things...

It's lovely to revisit that memory though.

Oh, I thought it was Jim Harrison.

(and now I'm awash down memory lane)
