Clear as mud.
The first time I heard that was when you were teaching my grade eight class. You told us how you were bullied for being fat and physically slow, and you admitted that they used to call you Mud. We thought you were cool. Score one for nerds!

My husband's family has a saying, "fat as mud." They're from the south. Maybe that's it.
I once worked with an elderly gentlemen who was volunteering his time with the court. He was direct, and no nonsense. He once indicated that a person was, "as dumb as a box of rocks". That saying has stuck with me for years.
I too hate cilantro, I read somewhere that it's genetic-to some people it takes like a dirty dishrag and to others like a fresh spring.
