#810: I Like...

  • people who look like gelflings.
  • the little pink eraser nubs on the ends of yellow pencils.
  • cold medication that makes me feel warm, stoned, and a little numb.
  • the satisfaction of horking up a really chunky gob of brightly coloured lung mucus.
  • to twitter.
  • that the word proper looks like it should be pronounced pr-oh-per.
  • a Gershwin tune.
  • it when Oskar licks my armpit.
  • the smell of soft cat food fresh from the tin.
  • the highly vowelled word sequoia.
  • the word kettle, too.
  • fresh coffee from the french press early in the morning.
  • abacuses.
  • wearing layers of blankets in a cold house, because it feels very authorly.
  • scratching itches, especially this new one I have in one of my laparoscopic hysterectomy scars.
  • BlogRush, (and you will, too).
  • red Swingline staplers.
  • licking the sweet, cheap chocolate out of a Toffifee and throwing the rest of it away.
  • butter chicken.
  • three-hour long hot baths in deep tubs with sunshine streaming through the window and books, a notebook, and a pen at the ready.
  • the AOLer Translator, because is makes this sentence look like this: I LIEK TEH AOLAR TRANSLA2R B/C SI MAEKS THES SENT3NC3 LOK LIEK THES.
  • orange sweaters.
  • toast with butter and brown sugar.
  • the sound of freshly fallen leaves rustling around my shoes when I walk through grass.
  • handbell choirs.
  • listening to people swear when they drive their cars.
  • my cheddar cheese quiches, even though they fall every time.
  • crumbling cement and stone where buildings used to stand.
  • turkey bacon.
  • the workings inside clocks and the cuckoos that go with them.
  • Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around", despite its big R religiousness. (turn It UP LOUD.)
  • the orderliness of bulleted lists.

When the man comes around! One hundred million angels singing.

That is an awesome song which I love for its religiousness.

I can't believe Johnny hasn't made a convert out of you just through that song. But I guess that would be a miracle and then he'd have to be beatified.

just saw actual gelfling dress worn by actual gelfling (Kira) at the Art of Jim Henson exhibit. Also, original sketches for the set and puppets.

I've thought Myles looks a bit like a gelfling since he's been with us. Mostly I think it's his pug nose, the fact that his ears stick out a little and are still soft and smooshy and his hair line, which goes into a fine point on his forhead.
