Lula Loves the SAD Light, Too

I missed using my SAD lamp for about a week over Thanksgiving because of travel and work schedules, so I have been revelling in its glow over the last few days. I think Lula missed it, too, because as soon as I turn it on, she curls up with her forehead about five inches from the bulbs and sits very still, as though she's meditating on all the glorious light.

I feel you, Lula. I feel you.

Forest Shadows and Possibly Lions

Jen Wilson and I went for a long hike through a spot of urban woods in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and I could hardly pay attention to our conversation with all of the shadows shuffling through the leaves under the long autumn light. I felt as though we could turn at any moment and see lions.

Lula Might Actually Have Missed Me

Lula, who has preferred Aidan since the day I brought her home, actually might have missed me while I was away at the BlissDom Canada conference. She kept hovering around me, not sure what to do with herself. I think she was confused that she was choosing to be near me.

It's okay, Lula. New love is weird.

Late Afternoon Hotel Nap

I was at the BlissDom Canada conference in Mississauga, Ontario over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, I gave in to a deep nap and woke up to such soft solitude in my hotel room that I had to mark that this peacefulness was there.
