It has been hot here. Yesterday, it hit 37°C/99°F, and I live in an apartment without air conditioning. I am spending today alternating between sitting naked in front of a fan and hiding out in an air-conditioned coffee shop. I hope this slick of sweat looks good on me.

This is a group of potted plants in San Jose. I stuck my nose into the thick of it, and its 1920's movie-set architecture rose up and literally stabbed me in the knuckles. We must suffer for our art.

Hot In San Jose

I wandered aimlessly with a few people on the last afternoon in San Jose following the close of the BlogHer '14 conference. We left the San Jose Museum of Art and weren't quite ready to break out into full sun yet, so we hung back on the steps, lazy in the shade. Even the palm trees were singed by the sun.
