Tintype Onion: A Workflow

Hipstamatic just released the Tintype SnapPak, and I love the richness and depth of its texture and colour with both the C-Type Plate colour and D-Type Plate black and white films combined with the Tinto 1884 lens, so I decided to, of course, showcase it with Onion, the handsomest of my three cats. The internet does need its cats, doesn't it?

I took the original photo with Hipstamatic using the Tinto 1884 lens, C-Type Plate film, and no flash:

Then, I opened the image in Camera+. I clicked Edit » Scenes » Clarity:

I'm looking forward to trying this film out in the light of day. I'm curious to see how it will handle bright snow. I'll keep you posted!

Then, open the image in Camera+, click Edit » Scenes » Auto. Then, click FX Effects » Retro » Fashion » Intensity , and then drag the slider left until it is at 33%. Save it to the Camera Roll.

Open the photo in Instagram. Then, click Lo-fi » click on the small square in the upper left to remove the frame.

And there you have a rather lovely looking Palinode having his morning coffee. I didn't want to forget the red of his sweater in the fall morning light.

This is my kitty Onion sleeping in the sun, having the nap I wish I was having.

And, yes, I realize that the second photo is perfectly fine as is, but Percolator's too much fun not to play with, don't you think?

The Palinode At Breakfast: A Workflow

The original was taken with Camera+.

I then opened the original photo in Vintique and cropped it square. I used the Old Time filter, clicked Edit Filter, and turned off the Red Texture, Noise, and Hightlight layers.

I took this photo over breakfast with the Palinode at Tangerine, where they make a different kind of winning savoury tart every day.

They don't pay me to say this. I just like to spread the good word.

The original was taken with ShakeItPhoto.

And then it was run through Cameramatic's B&W filter using the Black & White setting.

This is part of a larger set of statues on display in front of Regina's City Hall.
