Five Star Friday's Edition #81
Friday, November 27, 2009 Writers are schizophrenic. On the one hand we tell ourselves, "This is a work of genius! I've created Art!" Then we try to peddle it, like a widget, to The New Yorker, Playboy, or SF Age.

This week's roundup of excellent weblog entries is brought to you by dancing, disability on Glee, memories of then and now, libraries, domestic violence, grief over loss of intimacy, socialized medicine, frequent use of the words I love you, a mom being right, cuddling overnight in a car, Shakira, girlfriends' pets, a call to nuzzle, a friendship, how we die, an absent father, Wright Blocks, letters, the Christian side hug, Adam Lambert's homosexuality, and New Moon.
And, if you've got a weblog entry you wrote that you'd like to share, please link to it in the comments. Put yourself out there!

I'll kick off the self-promotion thing: http://www.schmutzie.com/2009/11/mr-regional-manager-guy-with-pencil.html
And I'll second that self-promotion thing with this:

Thanks, Schmutzie!
Thanks man. Really really bummed, and seeing myself here helped make me smile for a minute. :)
Awwww! I was trying to figure out how to get the smell of wieners off me (loooong story) when I stopped to check my email, and there was the notification that I was featured on here.
Suddenly, the processed meat smell didn't matter, quite so much.
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for putting me up on 5-Star Fridays! I wasn't sure anybody ever read me! LOL!
I'm looking forward to checking out all the other blogs linked on here.
cool. thanks, schmutzie.
Glee has been all over the board re: its attitude towards people with special needs, and so have the reactions. I loved the Wheels episode because it backed up what I always tell people -- just because I love someone with special means doesn't mean I'm not otherwise an asshole -- but thought last week's episode featuring a Deaf choir was totally patronizing.
Thanks for sharing my love of libraries with your audience- it's nice to be noticed!
I can't believe I have some press. Thanks there pal.
