What Is #BlogNow?

#BlogNow is a monthly twitter chat to talk about the state of blogging: what it is, where we are as bloggers, and where blogging is going.

Why Was #BlogNow Launched?

Laurie, Neil, and Elan kept having conversations about the state of blogging both with each other and other people, and it became apparent that more people wanted to have this kind of discussion. Also, these three bloggers just couldn't stop digging into the meta of what they do. Some would call it curiosity, some would call it passion for the medium, and others might, in less complimentary terms, say these three clearly need to relax. They eventually decided to open it up into a public conversation once a month to see what was really going on in the world of blogging and what was on the minds of bloggers.

The chat initially began on Twitter under the hashtag #Blog2012. After the chats became more popular — the trio was even invited to host a live #Blog2012 chat in a Room Of Your Own at BlogHer '12 — they knew that they would definitely continue with the public conversations beyond 2012, and so they decided to give the chats a better home and longevity at #BlogNow.
