About Schmoetry

I don't write a lot of poetry, but I occasionally write one or two or three every few months and have been since I was nine or ten years old.

I was once published in a magazine devoted to high school poetry, but only after I resubmitted the same awful pieces three or four times. I was so sure that even my worst stuff was better than half the stuff they were printing that I was determined to have them print my worst. I think I could have used a course in Logic at the time. Anyway, they finally published a couple of my poems, one of which they put next to a pencil drawing of a man mid-heart attack.

I felt like a jerk.

No, I will never bring out anything I wrote before the 2000s. This stuff is hard enough to put out into the ether.
